Classic · Re-tested
The Old Fashioned, finally settled.
Eleven bartenders, four ryes, one week of arguments. The version we pour on a Wednesday when nobody's watching.
This Week · Boobar Wire #214
The recipe index isn't a content farm. It's a tested, rated, ever-refreshed archive — built in a 1,800 sq ft Brooklyn test kitchen, not from a laptop. Start with this week's lead pour, then fall into the database by spirit, era, difficulty, or glass.

Modern · 2008
Equal parts of four ingredients is the easy part. The hard part is the Aperol you actually want to drink.
Twist · Reader request
Not a substitution. A separate drink, with a different bitter and a smaller dose of vermouth than you think.
Classic · Pre-Prohibition
Three ounces of grapefruit juice is the recipe's worst idea. Here's the one we actually serve, with the Luxardo accounted for.
— A note from the test kitchen
Every recipe in this index has been made at least twice by our staff in the last eighteen months — not because we're precious, but because the last time you trusted a cocktail blog, the proportions were off by a quarter-ounce and nobody noticed. We notice. We re-rate, we re-photograph, we update the dilution note when a vermouth quietly changed its formula, and we publish the diff. If a recipe here is wrong, it is wrong in writing, with a date attached, and we fix it before the newsletter goes out.

What we're shaking this month
Pick of the Week · Issue 214
After four months of side-by-side panels and a freezer test we invented just to stop arguing, this is the Martini we order when nobody's paying attention. A 50/50 split of two gins, vermouth by the teaspoon, and a temperature rule we wish more bars would learn.
